sometimes it makes sense to draw back the obscuring curtains of disbelief and ask questions of the other. sometimes the other has good things to say... sometimes not. sifting through it all with your own thoughts, history and insights invokes a less than perfect focus. what do you think of this? valuable guide - or javascript hokum?

Posted by Pete at 08:57 PM | Comments (13)today was a long ass day. i drove from d.c. to nyc along post-thanksgiving the I-95 parking lot. boredom got the better of me and i started chatting while driving... then taking pictures... then checking tarot readings...
eventually, traffic started moving again. ahem.

here's the holiday capsule sysnopsis from d.c.. stomped around georgetown on wednesday night with bill, alex and emily. enjoyed a yummy and huge meal for thanksgiving yesterday at dad and gene's... then fell asleep all afternoon. ahh sleep!
today, black friday, was much needed retail therapy. now i have shoes, pants and shirts for the going out in ny - woohoo! tonight is madam's organ in adam's morgan. it's rainy. we'll see how that goes. you, dear reader, shall know tomorrow.
Posted by Pete at 06:09 PM | Comments (12)went to madagascar and met those folks. had beers with dallas and good food. then we went to a house party for more pals. meh.
the ny bman decompression party was a nice time. hippies under the subway tracks. uh huh.
Posted by Pete at 11:27 PM | Comments (19)it's official. siberia and jimmy fallon. check! we celebrated elly's birthday last night at happy ending. heh. post happy ending, some of us continued to siberia, of kitchen confidential fame. a bar i've been itching to try. much fun! before long along comes jimmy fallon. a new friend and i decide to have some fun with jimmy and harass him. she smacks his ass and balls. he thinks i did it and thinks it's funny. soon there's more beer. ah new york, it's a hell of a town!@

ok. time to walk my ass over to madagascar and start melting metal.
Posted by Pete at 03:59 PM | Comments (15)last night i was sitting at home bored and that boredom moved me to create. the boredom that moved me to create and not socialize was at least in part because to socialize you need more than 1 person involved. life is funny. i just checked my messages and a friend i hadn't heard from in a while had called me last night wanting to go out. hah. i feel better knowing that i got work done last night. i'll call that friend another time.
i just finished watching battle royale. i liked the book better, but the movie was no slouch. thanks lamont!
continuing the spirit of long and rambling entries...
tonight is elly's and linnea's birthdays. i suppose i should drag my ass off this chair and go stomp around the lower east side with those kids. the obligations of be not boring. heh. a wise man once said, "everybody's workin' for the weekend!" he was right.
no i'm not trying to extract drugs from flowers a la adaptation! my good pal woods down in south florida sent me a picture of one of the orchids he's grown. a nice bit of color from a kooky flower. thanks woods!

in a strange departure for me, i think i'll actually bare my soul for a brief moment tonight. i'm bored. i'm not ecstatic. there. that was it. that's all you get. that was all the feeling sorry for myself i get too. it's win-win for everyone. now back to our regularly scheduled program.
in other news, the radiator is adding its wheezy accompaniment to mixmaster morris' chillits set. this makes me happy. why does productivity seem to equal boredom so often? how is it that the human mind, heart and soul all have such divergent agendas? pehaps this is the human condition of which magritte "spoke".
ganesh, jebus, buddha, and all other ungraspable concepts, please bless mixmaster morris. he's the best. "i'm mad at you. you're mad at me..."
i figure i should add some filler to the end here so as to avoid back-to-back paragraphs ending in quotes. did i tell you i made homemade whipped dessert topping today? i did now. yes. justice will prevail and we're all doomed. have a nice day, please drive thru.
Posted by Pete at 11:08 PM | Comments (17)thrill to the excitement of the long island railroad! dare you resist it?! are there such things as horse socks?

what to say about cleveland? it's not the prettiest place in the world, but at least it's not buffalo. the drinks are strong at the boneyard and my jacket smells like the lazy bartender's afterhours chicken wings.
Posted by Pete at 06:18 PM | Comments (16)sigh.

dammit! i drove home from boston (by way of target, home depot and rye, ny) late last night and parked by the school across from my house in what looked like a legal spot. bummed is what i was when i came out to my car and it'd been towed... i checked the signs again and there's no mention of tow-away. after a car service brought me to the lovely brooklyn navy yard impound lot, i got to wait for 3 hours for alamo rental car to fax an updated copy of my rental agreement to the impound lot before the "super happy and motivated and professional" employees therein would deem my car worthy to leave the lot. bleah. $$$ and time down the drain.
Posted by Pete at 03:51 PM | Comments (15)rented a car and drove up the coast to boston this weekend to attend my buddy jay's wedding. the big dig has greatly improved boston's access to logan airport, but they're still missing such basic things as lines on the roads and um... street signs? not that new york is all that much better. it took me an hour and a half to get from union square to the triboro bridge on friday.
Posted by Pete at 11:45 AM | Comments (16)took a long stroll through prospect park today. mmm fall colors.

i had my first fire in the fireplace today. a bit smoky, but so cozy and warm :)

had dinner with a friend tonight for her almost birthday... terra 47 at east 12th and broadway is "warm and glowing with organic and seasonal ingredients". um, yeah... it kicks ass! i also bought new cd's for the first time in ages. the yeah yeah yeahs, danny tenaglia, plastikman... woohoo!
Posted by Pete at 10:06 AM | Comments (15)so i went back to columbus, oh this week. i had some extra free time so i went and saw matrix 3 - boring... then i went down to check out osu. I'M HERE TO LEARN, NOT MAKE OUT - NOW ON WITH THE CHLOROPHYLL!!!
Posted by Pete at 01:02 AM | Comments (15)pretty much says it all.
